2020 Daytona 500 - Highlights
The 62nd Daytona 500 got underway with President Trump doing a fly-over in Air Force One and taking a pre-race lap in the Presidential state limo 'The Beast'. Trump also served as the Grand Marshal to kick things off. The race was delayed a few hours due to rain and only got a few laps into the Daytona 500 before rain officially sidelined the race until the next day. On Monday, the race got underway with no delays but ended with a brutal 19-car 'Big One' pileup that involved Ryan Newman leading the pack but being turned sideways by Denny Hamlin on the final lap. Denny Hamlin ended up winning the Daytona 500 in overtime.

At the 62nd Daytona 500, Denny Hamlin took home the win, making it his third Daytona 500 win. Hamlin became the first driver since Sterling Marlin to win back-to-back Daytona 500s. President Trump served as Grand Marshal, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. waved the green flag to officially start the race. After two rain delays, the race was postponed until the following day. Most of the race ran cleanly until the 185th lap. The Big One came that triggered a massive 20 car accident. On the final lap, Ryan Newman was involved in a very serious crash and was rushed to the hospital. He was released from the hospital the following Wednesday.
