2020 NASCAR Cup Series Championship - Highlights
Chase Elliot snagged his first NASCAR Cup Series title at Phoenix Raceway. He became the third youngest Cup Series champion in NASCAR history. Elliot managed to top his fellow finalists Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, and Joey Logano. Multiple failures in the pre-race inspection put Elliot at the back of the pack, but he was able to move up to the third position by the end of Stage One of the race. He then moved up to second by the end of Stage Two, and took over in the final stage of the race. He ended up leading a race-high 153 laps, including the final 43 circuits after passing Logano on Lap 270.

Recent NASCAR Race Highlights
2020 Xfinity 500 - Highlights
Chase Elliot had a 6.577 second victory over Ryan Blaney in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, which earned him a position in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship finale. Nine-race winner Kevin Harvick failed a last lap pass, which eliminated him from advancing onto the final round of the series. He had to pass 2019 series champion Kyle Busch in order to gain the position. Instead, the cars crashed after rubbing, which pushed Harvick back to the 17th position, 8 points shy of being able to make it to the next and final race.
2020 Autotrader Echopark Automotive 500 - Highlights
After the weather delayed the Autotrader Echopark Automotive three times, Kyle Busch managed to merge ahead as the winner on the third continuation of the race at Texas Motor Speedway. 72 hours, 28 minutes, and 34 seconds had elapsed between when the red flag was brought out on Sunday due to weather, and the re-continuation the following Wednesday. Busch was able to save enough fuel over the last green flag run to get 66 laps. He was running so low, that his car ran out of gas during his victory burnout at the end of the race. It was his first of the season, preserving his 16 year run of winning at least one race per season.
2020 Hollywood Casino 400 - Highlights
Joey Logano managed to hold off Kevin Harvick at the Kansas Speedway in the Hollywood Casino 400. Logano's victory was by just .312 seconds ahead of Harvick, which earned him the first position in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4. Logano beat Harvick off pit lane and held him off for the final 45 laps. This victory was Logano's 26th career NASCAR Cup Series win and his third victory of the year. Alex Bowman, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch rounded out the rest of the top five that day.
2020 Bank of America ROVAL 400 - Highlights
Chase Elliot won the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in only his fifth NASCAR Cup Series season. It was his fourth consecutive road course victory, and automatically qualified him for the three-race Playoff Round of 8. He tied teammate William Byron for most laps led, and a race best 26 laps. He managed to hold off runner-up Joey Logano by 3.895 seconds to win for the third time that year. Erik Jones, Kurt Busch, and Ryan Blaney filled out the rest of the top five positions that day.
2020 YellaWood 500 - Highlights
Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag in the YellaWood 500 at Talledega Superspeedway in triple-overtime. It was at the end of a third over time where Hamlin beat Matt DiBenedetto to the finish line by just .023 seconds, which is about a two foot lead. DiBenedetto was later penalized for forcing William Byron below the yellow line that separates the racing surface from the apron in turn 4 of the final lap. As a result, that bumped Erik Jones up to second and dropped DiBenedetto to the 21st at the finish.
2020 South Point 400 - Highlights
Kurt Busch won the Round of 12 opener in the South Point 400 in Las Vegas. He had a very promising track position late in the race, but it was still a high stakes haul for the driver. This victory earned him a position in the next found of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, giving him a guaranteed spot in the Round of 8. Denny Hamlin led a race-best 121 laps, but ended up finishing third, while Matt DiBenedetto, Martin Truex Jr. and Alexbowman rounded out the top 5 drivers that day.
