2004 Monaco Grand Prix - Highlights
The 2004 Monaco Grand Prix was won by Renault driver Jarno Trulli with a time of 1:45:46.601. Several crashes retired many drivers in this race including Takuma Sato on just the second lap after beginning with a very fast start. Lap 3 saw the safety car deployed as David Coulthard and Giancario Fisichella collided, resuming the race on lap 7. Another safety car came out after Fernando Alonso crashed trying to lap Ralf Schumacher on lap 41. In total 11 drivers were retired from either crashes or vehicle malfunctions. In the end Trulli won his first victory in his F1 career with Jenson Button finishing 2nd and Rubens Barrichello finishing 3rd.
