Kyle Busch snagged his 55th career Monster Energy NASCAR cup series win at the Pocono 400. He led 79 laps of the race, and was able able to make a take-over in the final laps. Brad Kesleowski, came in second, giving him a top five finish for the seventh time in the last eight races at Pocono. Chase Elliot, who came in fourth, managed his fifth straight top five finish of 2019, which was the longest streak of his career at the time. The day started with a chance of rain, drivers and crews strategized for what might have been a shortened race. The adjustments to down force made passing difficult, and caused some close scrapes with the wall.
