No. 8 driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the 46th running of the Daytona 500. This was the very fist NASCAR Nextel Cup race to ever air in high definition. Dale's win came exactly six years after his father got his first and only win the Daytona 500. 9 cars were taken out of contention due to wrecks. Tony Stewart led the most laps in this race with 98 and Stewart also finished in 2nd place.
